Letters to Zachary Coloring Book - Jason Tuttle

I was so excited to catch up with friend to the show and fellow bereaved father Jason Tuttle. He's had quite the busy year since we last talked. Jason writes : I am a married father of two kids with multiple mental and physical disabilities. I was a Stay-at-Home Dad and medical caregiver for 12 years until my son suddenly and unexpectedly passed away from issues related to his needs on 01/28/22.

Since the day my son passed and after a year of intense grieving, I knew that I needed and wanted to create something to help me grieve as well as create a legacy for my son. Plus, I knew that I needed to help others in their grief too. The grief community “Letters To Zachary” was born out of the ashes of my devastation. It was a healthy way to get out all my pent-up emotion relating to the loss of my son, but I was only doing that for myself. So, one day, I decided to post a letter in a Facebook grief group. It was from this very post that the avalanche of positive remarks and connections began on my journey in the grief community.

Out of a recommendation by an admin. of a Facebook grief group that Tanya’s and my life paths crossed. Tanya and I talked and she decided to have me on her podcast, Sunset Stories. This was my first ever podcast appearance. Tanya gave a shot to an unknown in the grief community to tell his story and it was from that first shot that my grief community has massively grown in the last 15 months.

Since being on Sunset Stories, I have:

1. Created a grief community via my professional website, FB page, and Instagram page.
2. Done 59 podcasts across 6 different countries with a total of 61 episodes to date.
3. Published a grief coloring book that memorializes my son as well as Tanya’s and numerous other grieving parents.
4. My content has been published in 6 different publications (newspaper and magazines).
5. Collaborated with Lenny Hunt on his Grief 101 YouTube Series.
6. I have also spoken at a year end, online conference based out of Canada.

It's been because of Tanya’s willingness to give me a chance to share my story on her platform and to help that created the foundation on which my grief community stands. I am forever grateful to Tanya and Sunset Stories.
